Carson Deans
Carson Deans is an 18 year-old guitarist, musician, and songwriter out of Nashville, TN. Playing with a distinct rhythmic style blending blues-rock with funk and jazz-infused improv jams, he’s beginning to make his mark on the music scene. His debut studio EP “Clear Nights”, co-produced and released in 2023 at the age of 16, channels his broad range of influences from early jazz instrumentalists to blues-rock favorites, contemporary jam bands, and everything in between.
Carson began playing guitar at 7 years old, and within a couple of years was busking for the crowds on the streets of lower Broadway in Nashville, TN. Since then, he’s worked hard to hone his craft, developing a solid foundation of rhythm playing to compliment his melodic solos and improv jams. Carson’s music channels his broad range of musical influences from guitarists Jerry Garcia, Bob Weir, Trey Anastasio, and Mark Knopfler to jazz icons John Coltrane and Miles Davis.
Carson was the youth delegate at The Blues Foundation’s 2019 International Blues Challenge (IBC) for the Memphis Blues Society performing at B.B. Kings, where he again performed during the 2025 IBC with the Music City Youth Allstars affiliated with the Nashville Blues and Roots Alliance. He shared the stage with blues legend Earl “The Pearl” Banks at the 2019 Southern Hotwing Festival, and more recently, won Tone Central Station’s 2025 Super Shredder guitar competition in front of celebrity judges Billy Sheehan and Eddie Ojeda.
Look for him performing with the Carson Deans Band, alongside the Music City Youth Allstars, and across town at many of the open jams. Stay tuned for the official release of his next EP “Temporary Presence”, a project that was self-produced and recorded at Renaissance High School in Franklin for his senior year Audio Production capstone project, available now on his website CarsonDeansMusic.com.
